Ferrari Unveil New F1 Car For 2010

January 28th, 2010

Ferrari F10Ferrari unveiled their new car this morning, the F10, with which Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will compete to win the 2010 FIA Formula One world Championship, starting on March the 14th in Bahrain.

Ferrari has high hopes for this new car, especially after last year’s performances where they achieved just one victory and the team finished fourth in the constructors’ world championship.

Stefano Domenicali, head of the team, presented the new car and its new main sponsor, Banco Santander, saying that “this season is very important to us. The last championship, for various reasons, was not very positive, that is why we hope that this new car is competitive, which is what Ferrari deserves.”

He declared that “we really have two new drivers … why two new drivers? Fernando Alonso is a double world champion and among the great champions of Formula One, he has come at the right time for him and for us. And we also speak about a new version of Felipe, after his accident last year in Hungary; he has fresh impetus to prove that he remains a winner.”

Massa will be responsible for driving the first laps in the F10 this afternoon at the Fiorano track and then carry out a full test day on February 1st in Valencia, while Fernando Alonso will test on the following two days.
