Apple’s new ‘tablet’ device, the ‘iPad’, will be available in Spain from the end of April, although they have yet to reveal the exact retail price at which the various configurations of the iPad will be set .
The sale of the device in Spain coincides with similar launches in Australia, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The iPad will then gradually go on sale in other countries throughout the world during this rest of the year.
Meanwhile, in the U.S.A, the company has brought forward sales of models with Wi-Fi only, which be offered in store from April the 3rd, while the release of the more desirable 3G models will coincide with the European launch later in the same month.
The firm also indicated that from a week today, on March the 12th, customers in the USA will be able to pre-order both models, the 3G model can be pre-ordered for delivery from Apple’s online store, while the Wi-Fi Ipad can be pre-ordered for pick up at midnight on the 3rd of April from one of Apple’s high street outlets.
With no definite price for Spain, prices of Apple goods are normally very similar in euros to their dollar prices. With that in mind, the WiFi only iPad will be available in the U.S. priced at $499 for the 16GB model, $599 for units with 32GB of onboard memory, and $699 the 64GB version.
The 3G Ipad has a substantial 130 dollar premium over the standard unit, with the Ipad 3G 16GB costing $629, while the 32GB and 64GB versions are priced at $729 and 829 respectively.
