Antonio Banderas at EasterThe Easter processions began yesterday and many famous Spanish celebrities participated in the streets of Spain. In Andalucia, the Hollywood actor Antonio Banderas travelled to Malaga while Isabel Pantoja enjoyed the processions in Seville with her children Chabelita and Kiko.

Antonio Banderas is a faithful devotee of the Easter traditions and returned to his native Malaga to participate in the Easter processions. The actor met with tradition by carrying the throne of the Virgen de Lágrimas y Favores (Virgin of Tears and Favours) in a procession through the streets of Malaga, where he will spend Easter with his wife, Melanie Griffith and daughter, Estela del Carmen.

While Banderas was directly involved in the processions in his own formal outfit, Melanie and Estela del Carmen photographed their husband and father on their mobile phones. Melanie Griffith, dressed in an elegant white blazer, said she was “thrilled” to be in her husband’s home country and took part in the Easter in her own way, by cheerfully throwing flower petals in the path of the procession.

Other celebrities who also enjoyed the Malaga processions were TV presenter Maria Teresa Campos and daughter Terelu, accompanied by her daughter’s boyfriend, Salvador Perez. Maria Teresa’s said that she was “very excited to be in Malaga” and confirmed that her daughter is very happy and very much in love with Salvador.

While the streets of Malaga were filled with celebrities and fans, some of the most popular processions in Spain take place in Seville, where the famous Andalusian singer Isabel Pantoja was in attendance with her sons Kiko and Chabelita, they were later joined by actress Raquel Bollo and one of her sons.
