Blanc to Take Over Sevilla FC?

Laurent BlancAccording to unconfirmed reports, Seville FC have reached an agreement with the current manager of Bordeaux, and former France international, Laurent Blanc to take over their vacant manager’s position for the next three seasons.

As a player, Laurent Blanc’s highlight was winning the World Cup with France in 1998, while his managerial career began in 2007 when he took over the reins at Bordeaux, finishing a creditable second in his first season. Last season Blanc went one better as Bordeaux convincingly became champions of France. Bordeaux are also on target to win the French league for a second year running, they are currently in the top position with 2 games in hand on their rivals.

According to the reports, Seville’s sporting director, Ramon ‘Monchi’ Rodriguez secured the agreement of Blanc some time ago. Seville are thought to have offered Blanc a three year contract and give him full authority at the club, in an effort to build a team that will rival the two Spanish giants of Real Madrid and Barcelona for the league title, as well as progress their performances on the European stage.
