Quad BikeA 9 year old boy has been charged with a road traffic safety offence after being caught by police officers driving a quad bike on the NA-134, the main road between Tudela and the villages of Ribera del Ebro with LogroƱa in Navarra. A police patrol that had been posted at a road safety control point, observed a quad bike approaching them which, once in view of the patrol, had slowed down and then changed direction.

Even from this distance, the police could see that the vehicle was being driven by a child. They quickly chased down the quad bike whose driver began declaring that he was much older than he appeared and was legally able to drive the vehicle. When police managed to get in contact with the child’s father, also the owner of the quad bike, it was revealed that the boy was actually 9 years old and had been allowed to use the vehicle by his father on private land.

The child has been charged with an offence of driving a motor vehicle without ever having obtained the proper permit or license and is one of the youngest people to have been charged for such a crime in Spain.
