Charles and Camilla in Spain

Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have begun an official visit to Portugal, Spain and Morocco.
Charles and Camilla will be in Portugal for the next two days, before arriving in Spain on Wednesday and finally visiting Morocco next Monday.
They were meeting with Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva today, attending a state banquet at the presidential palace.
Portugal is oldest ally, thanks to the Anglo-Portuguese Treaty of 1373. It is the oldest active treaty in the world, suspended only briefly when Portugal and Spain were united under the Iberian Union between 1581 and 1640.
During the Spanish leg of the tour the royal couple will travel to Madrid and Seville where they will meet and thank volunteers who support the population of Britons residing in Spain.
The British Foreign Office estimates that around 387,000 British people are permanently living in Spain.
Britain’s overall economic ties with Spain are very healthy and the Spain has been one of the leading investors in the UK in recent years.
While the UK is also the second largest foreign investor in Spain, with around 700 British companies based here.
