Mango Offers 20% Discount For Returning Used Clothes

May 30th, 2011

A new loyalty program driven by fashion retailer Mango will enable customers to obtain discounts on new clothes from 20% in exchange for returning used clothes purchased from any of their stores in Spain within a period of one year.

Under the slogan “Guaranteed Buyback Value”, customers can carry out the transactions provided they have previously registered with the loyalty program, have acquired the temporary ‘Mango for Mango’ card and have made a first purchase.

For customers who already hold loyalty cards, the discount rises to 25% for any items purchased after January 1, 2011.

Loyalty Card

To apply for the card you just need to go to any of Mango’s Spanish stores or shop ‘online’ and make a first purchase. To get the discount it doesn’t matter if the item is used or if it is for a different season because the only requirement for making a return is that you purchase a new garment.

Once in possession of the loyalty card, the company will state on your account, the condition of all items that can be returned, the deadline for doing so, and the amount which will be deducted from your next purchase.

All this information can be found in a section of their website, the ‘virtual wardrobe’, where you can download a coupon with the clothes you want to return and which you will have to present at the store with the clothes.

Vicente Ferrer Foundation

In addition, the company pledge that 1% of the value of the returned items will be donated to the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, which will allocate all monies collected towards building houses in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. To promote this project, Mango has assumed the cost of the first 5 houses.

The Catalan chain, which opened its first store in 1984 in Barcelona, currently has more than 2,000 stores in a total of 105 countries.
